Children’s Book Review: Abigale the Happy Whale

Abigale the Happy Whale

By Peter Farrelly and illustrated by Jamie Rama

Abigale is a happy little whale until she realizes that her underwater world is being polluted by human junk. Her friends help her to realize the extent of the problem. Each cute underwater character gives her a glimpse of the hazards of dumping garbage in the oceans. With such friends as Rin Fin Fin, Golfin’ Dolfin, Dr. Gus the Octopus, and Wordsmith the Swordfish, Abigale finds out just what is really gong on in her ocean home. The author and illustrator work hand in hand to create an exciting story filled with clever rhymes and fantastic illustrations. Jamie Rama, the illustrator of this book, is a film cartoonist by trade and makes the story come to life with his colourful pictures. After reading this book, you can bet that your young person will never litter again.
