Here is the first “Jump into Science” book we have reviewed.  The  is an exciting National Geographic children’s book series about a variety of topics from “Sand” to “Sun” to “Earthquakes”.  What an exciting collection for your young naturalist.  The book being reviewed is called, “Coral Reefs”  and is written by none other than our own world-renowned Oceanographer, Dr. Sylvia Earle, herself.  How cool is that?

Dr. Sylvia Earle has spent over 40 years diving the world’s oceans and calling attention to conservation of this important biosphere.  She is a shining example of scientific exploration, dedication and heart.  This book is a tribute to her love of coral reefs worldwide and is a must read for all young people.

Coral reefs are a lovely, exquisitely complex, and fragile part of our earth.  It is important for your youngling to realize this and grow up respecting and protecting them from extinction.  The story is informative and interesting and filled with beautifully drawn illustrations in vivid colour for your young person to enjoy.  Once you’ve read this title, please look up the other excellent books in this series for further enjoyment.  coral-reefs-1 Children's Book Review: Coral Reefs
