Hiking Sweden’s Sandsjöbacka Nature Reserve

In October of 2009 I had the opportunity to spend a week in Sweden exploring and photographing their beautiful landscapes. Below are some of the pictures taken during two hikes through the Sandsjöbacka Naturreservat, which is located south of Gothenburg. The nature reserve consisted of mixed forests, valleys, nutrient-poor lakes and meadows. There are trails throughout the 2500 hectare park and there is one lake that is said to be good for swimming.

I spent two mornings hiking around the park. The ground was thick with dew and my breath could be seen as I took in all the vistas. Sweden reminded me of northern Ontario and the Bruce Peninsula. What an amazing place to experience.
