We had a fabulous waterfront site at Kiosk Campground (northern access point of Algonquin Park). The first evening I was looking out over Lake Kioshkokwi and saw some waterfowl floating in the water near our site. The evening sunlight was illuminating them in such a beautiful way.
At first I wasn’t sure what I was looking at. I grabbed my binoculars because I thought I was seeing a bird I had never seen before. As a few others floated into view I realized I was looking at Canada Geese. The two I didn’t recognize were ‘teenagers’ who hadn’t grown into their adult feathers yet.
They quietly floated by within 15 feet of shore and paddled off into the sunset.
