In 2008 Maya got to do a lot of really cool things all year round. She hiked Marthaville Habitat and Bridgeview Park throughout the winter and went winter camping to the Pinery.
In the summer she explored the Bruce Peninsula with us, visiting the First Nations Peace Gardens in Southampton, the beach and trails of MacGregor Point Provincial Park, Oliphant’s beach and fen, the rocky shores of Lion’s Head, and the Cabot Head Lighthouse. We also spent time hiking portions of the Bruce Trail, checking out Inglis Falls in Owen Sound and we even made it all the way up to Tobermory.
We ventured back up to MacGregor Point Provincial Park to enjoy fall camping and the start of the turning of the leaves.
2008 was definitely a wonderful year experiencing and enjoying nature and Maya had a blast!

I love walking in the rain.
I smell something! Why is this snow so deep?
These pebbles feel cool on my hot belly. Nice.
They don't call me a retriever for nothing!
What's that word out there, Mommy?
Peace Gardens Park near Southampton, Ontario.
Great spot to dive into at Cabot Head Provincial Park.
We got a family picture taken in front of this cool building I wasn't allowed in. Cabot Head Lighthouse.
We're going to see Inglis Falls and then I'm going to get my toes wet!
Owen Sound.
The whole family had red jackets for the winter. Aren't we adorable?
I'm a working dog, if there is water and sticks, I have to rescue them.
This is a weird rock we're standing on. See the lighthouse way out there in the distance? We love to walk.
These are some step stairs in London, Ontario.
It may look like my mommie is hugging me but she's actually just trying to stay warm. Maybe a bit of hugging.
This is Mommy's new friend. Not very friendly though.
We were checking out Lake Huron from the beach at MacGregor Point Provincial Park, but I had to see where Shashi was. I never swim here, anyway.
This nice gentleman played with me and gave me water while my Mommy and Shashi checked out the Cabot Head Lighthouse.
Just two gals camping and hanging out.
Camping in the winter time is kind of neat cause I get to sleep so close to my park. Cosy.
