There is something special about Jobes Woods Trail at Prequ’ile Provincial Park. We have visited this park only twice but found this trail to be somewhat magical. Both trips we have found the time to hike this trail at least twice during each stay and each time it was amazing. It isn’t a very long trail, nor is it at all difficult, but there’s just something about it that we love.
The trail is 1.3 kilometres long and there are a lot of well-maintained boardwalks that keep you up and out of the mud which is great for visitors but it’s also very important for the plants and animals that live in the vernal pools. We have never visited in the spring, but these seasonal pools are home to some interesting wildlife, like Wood Frogs and Salamanders.
Be sure to pick up or download the guide for this trail because it is full of fascinating information, some of which Chitra shared in the video below.
