We finally had a chance during our Provincial Park Adventure to rent a canoe for 24 hours and get three separate trips out onto the Mazinaw Lakes at Bon Echo Provincial Park. After an earlier trial run with Chloe, we went out for a paddle in the evening to watch the sunset on Mazinaw Rock.
It was a quiet evening on the lake, with only one motorboat going by us during the hour we were out. The light on the rock was absolutely gorgeous and Chloe enjoyed the smells and napping in the canoe.
What a perfect evening to experience the park by canoe. If you owned our own canoe we would have definitely tried to get out more often.
Bon Echo is definitely a place to rent a canoe so that you can get up-close to the Mazinaw Rock and don’t forget to check out the petroglyphs! While you are out canoeing you can also pull your canoe ashore to hike the Clifftop Trail.
