Algonquin – Kiosk Provincial Park Nipissing District, Nipissing Unorganized, South Part, ON P0A

We only spent a few days at Algonquin’s Kiosk Access Point campground and since we didn’t rent a canoe we checked out some local trails. We drove back up Highway 630, the road into Kiosk, and found the Eau Claire Gorge Conservation Area which was a great hike. There were a lot of baby American Toads all over the trail, damselflies and, of course, the view of the gorge and waterfalls.
After we hiked the gorge trail we continued up Hwy 630 and turned east on Hwy 17 to get to Samuel De Champlain Provincial Park. There we hiked a bit but it was a really hot day so we couldn’t do some of the longer trails. Some of the trails were also very rocky, which we didn’t want Maya to twist a paw on.
Surprisingly enough, Maya did not swim during this portion of our trip.
