The Pinery Provincial Park, just west of Grand Bend, features a spring fed, completely cut off part of the Ausable River. The river runs through the park and is enjoyed by canoeists, kayakers and swimmers. The park rents several watercraft for personal enjoyment.

Along the river there are picnic areas and a few stairs that lead to the river. On the north side there is a spot to put your canoe in, if you happen to have your own.

In the fall the views along the riverbanks are extraordinary.
