Sassafras Trail is the first trail you’ll come across when you drive into the Pinery Provincial Park. It is only 1 kilometre long and is quite flat until you reach the staircase that takes you to the top of one of the tallest sand dunes in the park.
Depending on the leaf coverage, it is possible to get a glimpse of Lake Huron and the surrounding area. Walking up the stairs during most seasons makes us feel like we are walking among the canopy of the forest. It’s an amazing feeling.
This is the last in our series from the Pinery during our Fall 2018 camping trips. Check back for future videos, during different trips and various seasons from the Pinery. As the closest provincial park to our home, we often visit the park for day trips and weekend camping trips.
