On a cold, sleeting autumn evening, I make some homemade Turkey Chili over the campfire. After a cold, wet day of hiking, there’s nothing better than a ‘stick-to-your-ribs’ meal to warm up. We prepped all of the ingredients ahead of time to make the cooking process as quick as possible.
Ground turkey, red bell peppers, spices, beans, tomatoes and some spaghetti sauce make for a delicious and hearty dinner. What’s even better is all of the leftovers for lunch and dinner during the week!
Join me as I take you through the steps to make this fantastic chili while I fend off the sleet. I paired the turkey chili with some store-bought garlic bread strips which I heated and crisped on a cast iron frying pan!
After a busy day of hiking and cooking, everyone was tired and ready to snuggle into the trailer.
Give us some suggestions for future recipes to make while camping. The camping season is upon us and we’re always looking for new and delicious meal ideas!
