Killbear Provincial Park was the 13th provincial park we took Maya to during our epic 2015 camping trip, and she still had a few more to visit before we would venture home. She was highly enjoying the different parks, trails and water stops.
She had been doing fantastic on trails during this trip. We think her new joint medicine containing green lipped mussel was definitely contributing to her ability to do as well as she was doing.
We only hiked the shorter trails that were suitable for her both in length and difficulty.
We took lots of breaks, walked slow and had water and treats for her during each trail.
Slowing down for Maya gave us lots of time to really take in the different ecosystems and habitats. It’s nice to take it easy and enjoy the sights and sounds that nature and new places has to offer.
Most of the trails we pretty easy, especially compared to many of the others we had already hiked further up north.
Maya had lots of naps in the trailer and in the truck with lots of comfy beds and blankets. What a sweet girl she was.
While picking up supplies at the nearby Walmart, Maya and Chitra decided to send me some selfie shots while I was grabbing some fresh supplies.
Overall we really enjoyed Killbear, even though it was a fairly busy park and some of the facilities were in need of upgrades. The trails were long enough for Maya and for the short time that we were staying. Not sure whether we would have enough to do with a younger dog or a longer stay. Perhaps there are other trails nearby that campers can enjoy.
