Hike to Jones Falls, Owen Sound

We always enjoy hiking to Jones Falls whenever we are in the Owen Sound area. It’s located behind the tourist information centre and is usually quite cool and shady, but also not very busy. The hike to the falls isn’t too long or difficult, but there are other trails that you can enjoy while you are there. It also links up to the Bruce Trail, which is really awesome!

The below video features relaxing music and beautiful scenes perfect for relaxing, meditating or enjoying nature. Jones Falls is a medium-sized, cascading waterfall that can be easily hiked to from the tourist information centre’s parking lot.

Hikers, tourists, naturalists and photographers will love this location, as well as the other waterfalls and trails around the Owen Sound area. The Pottawatomi Conservation Area also features trails that link up with the Bruce Trail which starts in Niagara Falls and finishes in Tobermory.

Jones Falls is open year-round and visitors can easily hike to the top of the falls, over a footbridge. A steeper trail is available for those wishing to see the falls from the bottom. There are over 7 kilometres worth of trails that can be hiked or even snowshoed in the wintertime.
