38 Day Trip, 15+ Provincial Parks, 2 Nature Lovers, 1 Dog & a Boler.
We are back from our epic 38 day camping adventure that took us to more than 15 Provincial parks across central and near north Ontario. This was a huge step towards our goal of visiting as many Ontario Provincial parks as possible, taking numerous pictures, and then reviewing each campground for our website.
A huge change for us this year was borrowing a small Boler trailer to do our camping instead of tenting it. The trailer was a challenge in terms of space, but it made the trip possible since we only stayed at each park for 2 to 4 nights before venturing on to the next one. Our usual rule with tent camping is that we spend at least 5 days at each spot because as anyone who has ever set up and taken down wet muddy tents and tarps can attest to, tenting is labour intensive and time-consuming.
2015 Northern Ontario Camping Trip
Going on a long camping trip is exciting, tiring, and eye-opening. We saw so many amazing and diverse landscapes, wildlife, plant life and human beings. No matter how far we travelled, we found that human activity had touched all of the environment around us. There were remnants of the negative effect we have on nature even in the most remote places – a reminder that we need to tread more gently, be more aware, and make wiser choices for the future if we want to live more harmoniously with our world.
