On our last day at Silent Lake Provincial Park we hiked the 3 kilometre Bonnie’s Pond Trail. The trail was fantastic and we really enjoyed the landscapes, including the lookout where we stopped to enjoy our lunch. The hike wasn’t too difficult and was actually a really good length for a morning walk with a lunch break.
Silent Lake was definitely a memorable stop during our Provincial Park Adventure this year. We were only at the park for two nights but we both agreed that we would have liked at least one more day to either hike the entire 15 kilometre Lakeshore Trail or to canoe around Silent Lake, and portage over to Soft and Quiet Lake (yes, that is what they are called). So, if you are planning a trip to Silent Lake Provincial Park, stay for 3 or 4 nights in order to totally explore and enjoy the park!
Next week we start a 7 night stay at Bon Echo, where we canoe and hike while trying to stay cool and stay out of the rain.
