A Dog Loves You More

Do you ever wonder what your dog is thinking or if she really loves you? Dr. Gregory Berns has spent decades using MRI technology to answer these questions. Berns used a large variety of dogs to compare the dog’s response to a reward and no reward. He specifically studies the similarities between human and dog brains. He has found evidence that dogs remember us when we’re not around and that they actually miss us. They have since partnered with “Canine Companions for Independence”, which is the largest organization for service dogs, to use their research to predict which dogs will be good service dogs. The research that Berns has been doing at Emory University in Altanta Georgia seems to confirm that dog’s have social and emotional intelligence which is why they seem to be able to empathized with our emotions and why the human-dog connection is so strong.
