Almost Gone: The World’s Rarest Animals

By Steve Jenkins

We live in a world where children are increasingly separated from nature. They live their lives unaware of the precious natural creatures that exist in the wild. Many of the animals and natural spaces we took for granted as children, are gone due to development and over population. Because of this, we do not have the back woods play areas available to show our kids how chipmunks find food, or where owls have hooty holes, or the antics of frisky raccoons. They have no experience with such learning opportunities.

“Almost Gone: The World’s Rarest Animals”, by Steve Jenkins, allows our young ones to see the real picture of which species of animals we are losing, have lost, and are working hard to save in the world today. It is a sensitively written book, which gets your kidlet interested in endangered species across the globe and starts a conversation that we all need to have with our children if we hope to have a wealth of natural species preserved in our ecosystem for future generations.right-whale-300x119 Children's Book Review: Almost Gone: The World’s Rarest Animals
