Bridgeview Conservation Area is a small park within the town limits of Petrolia, Ontario. Since it is so close to home we often like to take our dogs for walks there. Unfortunately, there are many days that the park is either too wet or too buggy to make a walk possible. When the weather and ground permits, we make a point of taking Chloe to the park so that she can enjoy all the smells of the animals that make the park home.
The park features a restored covered bridge, some historical items from the town’s oil drilling days, trails, picnic areas and some beautifully carved wooden stumps. In the pond, which many people ice skate on in the winter, we can hear frogs, see turtles sunbathing and often spot Great Blue Heron and mink. In the forest we have spotted deer, butterflies, dragonflies and a variety of birds.
