Giving Us Reasons To Get Outside

The David Suzuki Foundation has teamed up with Cottagecountry.com to get the word out about our big disconnect with nature. We are so connected with electronic devices these days that the average person rarely spends quality time outside. We’re not talking about the walk from your car to the mall, or the videos about nature you watch on YouTube. We’re talking about actually getting outside and doing something active or sitting and enjoying the beautiful natural environments around you. You don’t have to go far. It could be a park in your neighbourhood or just outside of the city. There are actually lots of places that wouldn’t take too much time to reach or cost you a cent. The benefits for you and your family are actually quite amazing. Spending time in nature can help reduce your stress, give you more energy, improve your creativity, lower your risk to many diseases and, of course, if you are active while you are enjoying the great outdoors it will also help you lose weight. Who couldn’t use a few of those benefits in their lives?
