This is a trail we wished we had never started. Why didn’t we go down and hike French River’s Recollet Trail just north of the park? By the time we realized that the trail was in such disrepair, it was too late and it was faster to continue the hike than to turn around.

Don’t get me wrong, parts of the trail were quite nice and I did get to see and photograph a Wood Frog, which is always exciting. But some of the boardwalks were very dangerous, slanting, boards missing and so on. It was difficult enough without a senior dog whose eyesight was less than perfect.

Hopefully the next time we venture to the area some of the trails and facilities will be upgraded.
