High Pines Trail and A Walkabout At Bon Echo Provincial Park – Day 3

By day three we realized we needed to be off the site as early as possible in the morning if we didn’t want to listen to our neighbour’s generator. So, just after eight we got in the truck with our lunch and snacks to spend the day after the generator, I mean the site. We hiked the short, but hilly High Pines Trail which was 1.7 kilometres long. We didn’t see a single other person on the trail. The hike wasn’t too difficult and was nicely maintained. Check out our videos below to take the hike with us!

We parked at the Ampitheatre area and hiked around from the Narrows to the Lagoon and back to the Visitor’s Centre to sit and enjoy our lunch. At the gift shop I got a Bon Echo t-shirt and a small bottle of local maple syrup! After a relaxing afternoon of reading we went down to the Narrows to cook up some dehydrated Rustic Spaghetti for dinner and then I filmed the evening light on Mazinaw Rock.
