How To Make A Quick Basil Parmesan Orzo On A Campstove – Watch The Video!

Nothing better than a quick meal after hiking and exploring all day!

Do you like quick and easy but extremely delicious meals while you’re camping? Then this video and recipe are for you!

We portioned all of the ingredients out into a Ziploc bag before we even left the house. This recipe is great for longer camping trips, weekends or even day trips. It’s so simple, requires only 10-15 minutes to cook and is really delicious. Add a salad or a fresh piece of homemade bread and your meal is complete.

Directions: Bring 2 cups of water, or chicken broth, to a boil and add 2 tablespoons of butter. In the Ziploc we had 1 cup of uncooked orzo pasta, 2 teaspoons of dried basil and 1/8 of a teaspoon of black pepper. Add the ingredients into the boiling water and then let simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring periodically. When the liquid is almost absorbed, check to see if the orzo is tender, if it isn’t, add more liquid. Dish out the 1 or 2 servings and then add the parmesan cheese (about 1/2 cup) and fresh basil, if you have it! That’s it!

We also made a Ceasar salad but any salad would be perfect.
