When Maya was younger she didn’t have any jackets, rain gear or sweaters. We did buy her a really cool and very technical rain jacket once, because we had to walk her rain or shine. We wanted to get her a good rain jacket to keep her dry, for our sake. She could care less how drenched she got, she loved the rain and the water (as long as it wasn’t in the form of a bath). Unfortunately, after wearing it once, she refused to let us put it back on her, so we had to return it.

As Maya got older, we started having her wear some light winter jackets, then a life jacket for a trip to the east coast and gradually we added more and more to keep her warm, dry and safe. Some of the apparel we bought her ended up being too big, too small, too awkward to put on or impeded her mobility.

We ended up with some pretty good gear that will hopefully be passed down to Maya’s little sister, Kirra.
