The Bruce Peninsula National Park is located just south of Tobermory, Ontario and is part of the UNESCO’s Niagara Escarpment World Biosphere Reserve. Visitors can camp in one of three campgrounds along Cyprus Lake, or they can even do some back-country camping.
Campers can easily walk down to Cyprus Lake to enjoy scenic views along the trail, go camping or swim at the sandy, shallow beach.
Chloe the Foxhound enjoyed getting her toes wet, climbing on the rocks and experiencing all the new smells. We often hiked along either the trail or along the rocky shoreline throughout the day and into the evenings. The sunsets were spectacular and the lake was clear and cool.
The park itself can get pretty busy during the summer season, so be sure to make reservations ahead of time. The park has electric, non-electric, yurts and back-country camping sites. There is running water but no comfort stations with showers.
Nearby attractions include: Singing Sands Provincial Park, Fathom Five National Marine Park, Bruce Trail, diving, cruises, Big Tub Lighthouse and more.
