Cavendish Beach At Sunset, Prince Edward Island

We were supposed to head back to Ontario after our 32nd day, but we decided to extend our trip and head to Prince Edward Island for four days. We called around and found a dog-friendly cabin near Cavendish on the north side of the island (Bosum Buddies). Chitra had always wanted to visit PEI and I figured we couldn’t go home yet because we still had food left!

To get to the island you can either take a ferry or you can cross the 13 kilometre Confederation Bridge, which is what we did. After having lunch we stopped in New London at the L.M. Montgomery’s birthplace and then made our way to Cavendish.

At the Cavendish Bosum Buddies Cottage Suites, we stayed in #5 which featured one room, cathedral ceilings, a kitchen, sitting area, dinette, jacuzzi and 3 piece bathroom. It had a private deck and barbeque, as well as other facilities we didn’t use. It was a very touristy location but it was what was available at the last minute.

After seeing some foxes we drove to the beach to look at the red sandstone and to watch the sunset. It was absolutely beautiful and obviously a popular thing to do. Cavendish is very touristy and therefore busy and there are a lot of things to do, but a lot of them have entry fees.
