Discover the Rocks of Algonquin’s Booth’s Rock Trail, 2009

Parking at the end of Rock Lake Campground, hikers can start the 5.1 kilometre loop either via the old railway line or off through the forest. We usually go clockwise, so right into the forest we go.

Along the trail we encountered large erratic boulders, glacial formations, vibrant green mosses and horsetails, as well as a variety of pines, spruces and cedars.

At the top of the trail are gorgeous vistas of Rock Lake and the surrounding forest. This is also the perfect place to stop for lunch or a snack. Don’t be surprised if chipmunks try to join you!

This trail is one of our favourites, with a challenging enough hike, fantastic views, amazing rock formations and cool breezes coming through the forest off the lakes.

Make sure you take the time to do this hike at least once during your stay in Algonquin Park, you won’t regret it!
