Maya spent a beautiful fall day at Rondeau Provincial Park with her Mommies and her Grammie. This was her first trip to this park, which is located on Lake Erie, just south of the town of Morpeth. The park is situated on a small peninsula and has quite a lot of private cottages within the park, which was surprising to us.
We explored the pet beach and hiked the Tulip Tree Trail, the Black Oak Trail and the Spicebush Trail. After hiking we enjoyed the evening sunlight while we ate a hearty lasagna camping meal with salad and fresh buns.

A very important note about visiting Rondeau – it is a well known area for ticks with Lyme Disease. Before heading out on one of the trails, please protect yourself, your family and your pets. Wear light coloured clothing, avoid areas that are over-grown or that have shrubs or grassy areas, wear long pants and sleeves and even tuck your socks into your pants. You can use bug repellents with DEET for you and your family and consider a natural product like Flicks Spray for your pets. Check out this post for more information. Ontario Health also has a page on ticks and Lyme disease
