Yarmouth, Nova Scotia Walking Tour

Yarmouth was first settled in 1761 by New Englanders from Massachusetts who were offered free land from the government to take over lands that were once filled with Acadians. If you enjoy walking and history, Yarmouth has a lot to offer visitors. You can do self-guided tours or enjoy guided ones.

We decided, on a very hot day, to take a self-guided walking tour of some extraordinary homes in the Yarmouth neighbourhoods. Back in 2010 we picked up a paper version of the tour but these days there is a beautiful application that can be downloaded on your phone with lots of information.

The gallery below features some of the amazing, historical homes we saw during our walk.

Yarmouth has a lot to offer and is a wonderful city and area to explore during a visit to Nova Scotia.
